C3D objects into ACAD Arch...?

I am having a lot of issues trying to get Civil 3D 2011 objects to appear correctly when opened in ACAD Architectural 2008.  Specifically the surface elevation labels and slope arrows are coming in as empty boxes.  I have tried the following as per Autodesk instructions:

  • exporting the file to 2007 format
  • saving to 2007 format
  • AEC Object Enabler installed on Arch08
  • TrueConvert module installed on Arch08

Every time I get the same results...empty boxes where the label text should be.  Is there something else that would prevent these items from appearing properly in Arch08?

:smileymad:

Have you tried the actual Acad Civil 2008 Object Enabler for ACA '08?  If you can get the Civil file saved down to be compatible with 2008, you can install the Civil 2008 enabler from here:

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=9472808&linkID=9240658

into your ACA 2008.

The issue typically is formatting between past versions and current versions/platforms.  in this case you are using Civil 2011 objects (2010 Civil format) with AutoCAD Architecture 2008 (2007 ACA format).  The conflicts are in the code itself and the best way is to export your Civil drawing out as ACAD 2007 file format, and this will strip the file down to enable you to view the information in the ACA 2008 software.
