I am looking for help with creating a brick ledge. I would like to modify an existing 8" concrete wall to have a ledge that is 4"X8" at the top of the wall. Thanks

I believe that a profile is the best way to do this. Well worth reading
up on.
a profile if it has a shape. (applied to a seperate componant in any case)
If it's just rectangular, just add another componant and specifiy it's
height (bottom & top) from one of the 4 locations in the componant tab.
which will depend on whether it's at a constant height and if anything
else is going on in the wall.

here's an article I wrote
http://ausaca.blogspot.com/2008/07/wall-sleeper-componants-cont.html
sorry it's metric but hopefully it gives you an idea of how you can set up
different components with different heights.
I'm sure there are better articles out there but it may help.
or try http://ausaca.blogspot.com/search/label/wall%20styles for a number of
hints on walls.
cheers

I deal with brick ledges all the time. While components are nice, I think the best thing to do is add a body modifier. This way, if anything were to change on that particular wall, you can change the modifier pretty quickly.
