Brain Teaser

I am not sure if I am asking this in the right forum or not, if not please let me know.

I have 2  identical drawings, Each drawn in model space with one tab named Layout 1 with nothing on the paper tab.

I create the first drawin with it set to PDF, the name it comes up with is

"006-50_21-LIGHTING PLAN Model (1).pdf"

this is what it has been since I started  using autocad.

I create the second with it set to PDF, the name it comes up with is

"006-50_21-LIGHTING PLAN.pdf"

if you notice it doesnot add the tab name to it. I want the second without the tab name, anyone know what setting to make this happen all the time.

What was the name of the missing layout?
Did it have a period/dot or other character in the name?
Are you plotting to the AutoCAD PDF driver or something else?

The tab was both named model and had not been changed having any special character's. I am using the DwgtoPDF.pc3 that loaded with AutoCAD architecture 2013.

Thank you

Hi 1bdchristian,

I understand you'd like to save PDFs without the "Layout (1)" tag appended to the file name. The simplest solution I've found to this problem is to use the Sheet Set Manager. It provides more versatility in naming your files, and leaves no guesswork in how your PDFs will be names when you plot them.

I'm attaching a couple of images to this post to demonstrate how this works.

You can also find more information on setting up, using, and plotting Sheet Sets via the following links:
