Thank you Dean.

That's a good reason to stay with ACA2010 forever. I like this version
because it reliable and I have the good old menus installed. Otherwise,
after the ACA2009 fiasco (the worst ADT version Autodesk has ever produce),
I would have to go back to ACA2008.

This is sad.

As a one hoarse operation I'm finding myself being fee'd to death.

With AIA dues, Licensure fees, insurance, NCARB and ect, in some years the
$800.00 subscription/upgrade fee was just not bearable.

There were times when I upgraded every year. I was not one the subscription
plan but when I had the funds, I would upgrade. Never was dissapointed when
I did.

I'm a loyal ADT/ACA user, and don't see any workable alternatives, so I
guess this just forces me into a 4 to 5 year upgrade path.

Thanks,

We received their email couple weeks ago. We decided not only NOT to upgrade our subscription but we started looking for alternatives. We believe this is an extortion. We have been paying the subscription fees for years thinking we will save money (by not having to pay full price every few years) and time (by staying with the latest technology upgrades). We were sold on the concept. Well guess what: the subscription did not save us any time or any money. It is actually quite the opposite. The technological upgrades are not that significant and every time we load the new software the migration time costs us time=money. I guess ACA 2010 will be one of our last Autodesk upgrades for the foreseeable future.

I subscribe each and every word from "yiannisvar"'s post:

1. "the subscription did not save us any time or any money"
2. "The technological upgrades are not that significant and every time we
load the new software the migration time costs us time=money".

Pedro Aroso
PS: In Portugal, the AutoCAD subscription costs 780,00 Euros (1.122,67 USD)

I would like to know for sure what sparked this change. I know a lot of
subscription users have canceled subscriptions in 2009 due to economic
situations and think this is Autodesk's attempt to get those dollars back.
I, personally, don't think this ultimatum is going to pay off for Autodesk.
I've canceled two subscriptions and neither will be renewed anytime soon
thanks to the new policy.

Well, my partner and I decided today to say goodbye to Autodesk and ACA after 18 years. We are tired of the poor support and the high price for upgrades. Not to mention the increase in bugs and there inability to provide fixes. This new SIMPLIFIED PRICING and the number of bugs in ACA08 has put us over the edge.
