Welcome to the Discussion Groups!

There a several ways to copy AutoCAD blocks between drawings.

1.  With the source file open, use the WBLOCK command to "export" the block definition to a separate drawing file.  The, use the INSERT command to insert the file you created with WBLOCK into the target file(s).

2.  You can use DesignCenter to copy Blocks from any drawing to which you can navigate into the current drawing.

3.  You could INSERT the entire source file into the target file.  You could cancel the command prior to actually placing an instance in the target file and still get the block definitions into the target file, if desired.  This might be a good strategy if there are multiple blocks to transfer from the source file and the source file does not contain much more than the blocks to be transfered.  Otherwise you may have a lot of purging to do afterwards.

4.  You could set up a Tool Palette to hold tools that insert the blocks (one per tool), using the source file as source of the block definitions.
