AutoCad Arch / Revit Suite Just Arrived

I just got a new DVD with Autocad Revit Suite, NOW including ADT/ACA 2009.

What a great / inevitable thing; I was waiting for them to do this for a long time.

Anyone else get this in the mail?

Shouldn't this be big news around here?

Discussed a month or so ago when Autodesk announced it, if the search
feature is back up around here feel free to explore it.

it's just Dean, if you haven't seen his post around
you wouldn't know better. But he is just a lonely old man, who's Viagra ran out
a few weeks ago.

harsh? Just stating a fact and a way for the OP to find out more. You guys
are a little delicate today, go outside and get some sun.

Dean might have been short but it was simply factual and certainly didn't
deserve such a low gutter retort.
Dean has helped lots of people so I hope you intend to be helpful in the
future.
If not perhaps MSN chat or some sort would be more suited to your kind of
dialogue.
Otherwise be professional.

Oh I know Dean. 'No soup for you'.

I must have missed those posts about the inclusion of ACA with Revit a few weeks ago. So when it arrived I was really very taken aback!

Dean:

I just researched the old posts, as you suggested.

Let me post my message differently and see what happens:

We are on Subscription for ACA(ADT) 2009. Yesterday, we received free of charge the Reivt Arch 2009 suite, now including ACA 2009.

So if you are on ACA 2009 with subscription, it appears you are now automatically cross-graded to Revit Suite with ACA.

Is this still old news?

Really?, wow I got baked if that is the case.
I upgraded to the Revit suite on some of my seats because of them adding ACA but
if they are indeed adding it to ACA subscription free I wasted some decent
ching.

Now, that said I really doubt that is how it is
intended.  Unless others report this I think you are the lucky
dog.

I will have to try the search feature and find out
all there is to know about this 🙂

REVIT is not shipping for free with ACA2009 subscription as far as is known:
you (or office) either purchased REVIT too, or got 'upgraded' to REVIT (ask
around your office and with your reseller because you just lost your ACA
license forever) or your reseller ordered/Delivered the wrong product to
you.

If that is true, that's good news to me.

I'll expect my copy in a couple of months. 😉

the Revit Arch Suite includes ACA so he won't have lost his ACA licence
forever.
Will be interesting to find out what has happened though.

I know, but the OP is getting REVIT for 'free' with his ACA subscription LOL

And free bundling of ACA also means Autodesk is free to unbundle it anytime:
you should not run on your business relying on a software vendor's whims.

Probably won't matter much anyway as updates are very small so you could
keep using the old version without much loss. And if it IS an ACA
subscription !!!!

Ok here is the deal on who is getting what:

1. If you were already on AutoCAD Revit Architectural Suite 2009 (with active Subscription) you will get an "auto-fulfillment" upgrade to AutoCAD Revit Architectural Suite 2009.1 (that now also includes AutoCAD Architecture).
2. Everybody else has to crossgrade to AutoCAD Revit Architectural Suite 2009.1 to get AutoCAD, AutoCAD Architecture, Revit Architecture.

So if you are "only" on the AutoCAD Architecture or Revit Architecture platform you "should" not be receiving a copy of either of the platforms you do not currently own. If you are using ACA and received a copy of Revit (no extra charge) I am willing to bet you were actually on the AutoCAD Revit Architectural Suite 2009 platform and might not have even known it.

Regardless, nobody on the AutoCAD Architecture or Revit side is making out better than the other one. The one making out on getting all three platforms is the one on the Suite 2009 that got upgraded to Suite 2009.1

Cheers,
Jay

Okay...

No even MY interest has peaked... are you saying I should be receiving Revit 2209 soon as part of my ACA subscription?

Autodesk... you can chime in here to set things stright if you would like...

Fingers crossed....

Mike
