AutoCAD Architecture 2012 Pasteclip Invalid Error

I have recently changed from AutoCAD 2012 to AutoCAD Architecture 2012.

I have a number of drawings that I created in AutoCAD 2012 that I am now working on in Architecture 2012.

I have found that the CTRL+C (_copyclip) and/or CTRL+V (_pasteclip) commands do not appear to work properly. When I open up a drawing I created in AutoCAD 2012, use the _copyclip command (or copy with base point) then use the _pasteclip command, I get the error message "_pasteclipe *Invalid*". I find this error occurs if I am copying and pasting within the same drawing or across multiple drawings.

I find that after a period of time, approx. 30 seconds to 1 minute, the _pasteclip command functions correctly again, and I'm able to paste the content that I had previously copied. Obviously, a delay of this length is not desirable.

On a previous post elsewhere, someone suggested using the Audit command (the issue was with a previous release of AutoCAD). I tried this, and found I was able to paste straight away. However, there were no errors in the drawing and none were fixed. After saving the drawing, and returning to it later, I was again unable to copy and paste.

I also find that if I start a new drawing using Architecture 2012, I have no problems with _copyclip and _pasteclip i.e. the problem only occurs if I open an existing drawing, created in AutoCAD 2012, using AutoCAD Architecture 2012.

Any suggestions?

Thank you for your post.  One thought is the possible need for a file clean up using the outlined procedure below.  This has shown great success in similar occurrences as you have described in your post.  Please try this on one of the affected files and let us know how this worked out.  Thank you and we look forward to your reply update.
