AutoCAD Architecture 2011 Update 1 - Internal Error

Trying to install the new AutoCAD Architecture 2011 Update 1 and I am getting the following error:

Internal Error 2318. C:\Config.msi\PT23.tmp

Has anyone successfully installed this update?

We really appreciate you raise your problem.

Would you please offer me some information to help us narrow down the problem?

Which Operating System? XP, Vista, Win7?

32bits or 64 bits?

AutoCAD Archicture 2011 lanuage?

Did you install some hotfix in AutoCAD Architure 2011? such as Trim hotfix in Autodesk website, or Autodesk InfoCenter Hot Fix, Autodesk Materials Library 2011 Update 1

Do your machine  install other AutoCAD Architecture products or AutoCAD? Such as AutoCAD Architecture 2010, or AutoCAD 2010.

Or other information you think it may be related to the problem.

Any information you provided is valuable for my investigation.

Thanks,

Pengfei

It will be great if you can provide a log file during install SP. To enable the log file.

1. Start --> Run --> Regedit

Add a key value in below location.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer
Reg_SZ: Logging
Value: v

or run attached Reg file.

2. Then install SP , If the error pops up again,

Would you please send us the log file in below location?

Win XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temp

Vista: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp

The log file name is in the pattern of MSIxxxxx.txt

I assure you that anything you share will be used solely for investigating the cause of this problem and driving it to a resolution if possible.

Thanks and Best Regards,

Pengfei

Issue has been solved, although I had administrative rights the update logs were indicating I did not have the right permissions to install the software update to specific files.  I logged on with the domain administrators account and the update installed correctly.

Also, I had to remove the "Trim Hotfix" (i.e. Restore the Backup File) for error 1321 to be corrected, although ignore may have solved the issue with that specific error, I wanted to make sure I had the latest dbx file.

Thank you

We are glad the issue is solved.

You mean error 1321 pops up during install update after log as domain administrators account, and error will not show after remove “Trim Hotfix” and install again.

What is your Operating System? Vista 64 or Win7 64?

Did you click the Retry button? Can this button work?

Thanks,

Pengfei

I notice they still haven't fixed the rendering at high resolution bug, which makes this product still unusable for me.

Installed on 6 different work stations now without any issue.  It was an isolated issue with the test machine.  The station in question is running Windows XP 32.  The retry button was available but did not solve the issue.  Ignoring the file or reverting back to the old trim hotfix was the only solution.
