AutoCAD 2011

Its been a few yrs since I had used AutoCAD and presently have downloaded 2011.  Amazingly basic question... but how do I change the gray background screen to white?  I did type in "background" and a dialogue box appeared to which I thought I made correct changes (and yes did select apply to the change)... however my screen colour did not change.  Help

Thank you.

The BACKGROUND command may be for rendering.

To control the color of the drawing area background (and most anything else that you can control), open the Options dialog.  On the Display tab, click on the Colors button, and then set the colors as you want.
