AEC Content - Is it to a standard?

Hi,
The company that I work for, produces drawings for the US, the UK and the UAE.
We have based our block library on the AEC content available through the Design Center in Architecture 2008.
Is this content according to any particular standard? eg:
Is the Imperial content to AIA standards?
Is the Metric content to British Standards (or maybe ISO standards)?
The areas I am particularly interested in are Electrical symbols as well as some lighting, power and data.
