ACA and VIsta Drag'n'drop

Quote from User Guide: " Dragging drawing files from Windows Explorer to the Project Navigator; the drop location determines the file type. For example, a file dragged to a construct category becomes a construct.

I cannot get this working Vista SP1 (HP) & AcA2008/AcA2009.
How does this feature work. I need to add multiple plain dwg files to projects.

I have Vista SP1 / 2009, and that function is working just as it should.

How exactly are you going about doing this? What does ACAD 'do' when it does not 'do' it?

Windows explorer and AcA Project navicator-Constructs side by side.
Then drag the dwg-file on top of any constructs category (folder.)
Nothing happens. Shift, ctrl does not help.

I noticed that drag and drop of any drawing objects into other construct does nothing either.

Is the source folder the same as the destination folder? I wonder if
this would make a difference...

Nope, they are in separate folders, but both within the project folder.
Dwg is not attached to (with *.xml file) project.

I tried to same so that dwg is not under project and it WORKS.
Thanks for your idea Mason.

The source dwg which is to be attached, must not reside within project root or subdirectories.

(I tested dragging objects from open drawing and dropping them
into drawing. If a layout was open when target file was saved objects were placed in layout (paperspace). If model space was active then objects are placed in corresponding space !
Nice feature, but might cause some trouble...) Message was edited by: jpeltone

Drag and drop files from Windows "File Explorer" to ACA "Project Navigator"with Alt or Ctrl still does not work, seems that no one cares about ACA anymore, when Revit's around. (ACA 2021 + Win 10/Win 11)
