3DCLIP - wall & roof objects

I know that Archtecture uses views differently than the other AutoCAD verticals, but I'd still like to find a solution to this. When I use the 3DCLIP command to create section views of models created in Architecture, the wall and roof objects do not clip correctly. The clipping planes do not create sections of those objects.

Is there a way to get the 3DCLIP command to actually intersect wall and roof objects?

Perhaps a Live Section would work better for you?

@David,

We are a multi-discipline engineering firm. Other disciplines reference the Architecture models into regular AutoCAD to create views (the Electrical or HVAC groups). They could not use the Live Section tool themselves, but on the other hand, we could create Live Sections at the desired elevations, move them off to the side and have the other groups reference that rather than the actual model. That should work. Thanks!
