3 second delay with each dimension placed or altered

I have a brand new cpu running windows 7- 64 bit, nvidia geoforce 260 card (just updated) and brand new architecture 2011 software.  Every time i place a dimension, move or modify one, it has a three second delay.  Everything else works relatively well, only minor delays here and there which i assume are normal. 

Any ideas on how to fix this?  Thank you!

Do you have the properties palette open?  If so try collapsing the "Lines and arrows" section.
