2d Section and elevation will not update

How come i cant see the changes to the 2d section after adding objects to the model. I have refreshed the section and have also change to a different 2d style, however if i create a new section, i am able to see the changes on this new section but not on the old one. Is there any switch to this.

Thanks

CB

Using the PN, additions to the model will be part of the drawing file as an
x-ref that was selected for the section, thus anything extra added will be
included in any updates to the section, provided you have saved the file and
reloaded the xref.
If your section is in the same drawing, you will have to manually select the
extra items to be included/added in the section. Any item shifted or
changed (stretched etc) will have been selected before. Click on the
section, right click and add the items.

Try this.
Add a window and then refrresh. The wall will show the opening but the
frame won't appear.

Nathan thanks for the response, i do have the section in the same drawing but when i right click the section it does not give me any option to add items, is there any other place where i should look for this.
Sorry i am kind of newbie to Autocad Architecture.

Thanks

I see the window like you said, but why it does not show the frame and why it would only show windows but when adding walls it does not.

Thanks

If all you did was refresh the section or elevation, then the section/elevation is showing the objects you originally selected, which includes the Wall into which you put the Window, but not the Window. The refresh is picking up the fact that the Wall now is being cut by the Window and shows the hole, but the section/elevation does not show the Window, because it is not in the selection set.

Choose "Regenerate" from the right click menu (if you select the section/elevation line, rather than the section/elevation itself, then be certain to click the Replace Existing radio button and then use the Select Object button to select the section/elevation), and then use the Select Additional Objects button to add more items (like the Window) to the current selection set or the Reselect Objects button to clear the current selection set and reselect the objects to be part of the section/elevation generation. Once everything is set the way you want, click OK to regenerate the section/elevation.

Useful. I was having similar probs, but basically objects were in new reference files. Realised that in top view, it doesnt display all the xrefs by defauly, so the only way to select additional objects was to rotate the view model to a slight angle, then drag select over it all... only then did the missing objects start reappearing!
