I have repaired, reinstalled and set a search path for a folder containing my hatch patterns and nothing seems to work. All of these hatches worked in 2011. It can't even find the standard patterns. What gives? Exactly what file path should contain the acad.pat files??? Even when I direct it to one I've created I continue to get the same errors. acad.pet cant find file, no standard patterns available, error in reading the pattern file, unable to open file acad.pat error #1
Since this works just fine in 2013, elaborate on where exactly you placed these custom hatch files and is that folder in the Search path as noted in OPTIONS command's FILES tab (first entry way at the top)?
Nothing has changed between 2011 and 2013 with hatch patterns, so your file may just be in the wrong place.
I am familiar with creating a search path in options in order for AutoCad to locate my hatch patterns. I have done this numerous times before with 2004,2007 and 2011 with success. My understanding is that it doesn't really matter where the file is as long as you create a search path for it. That doesn't seem to be the case though with 2013. I should be able to have my hatch patterns in a folder on my desktop, create the search path and access them, but that does not work in 2013. If there is a specific place where these files should be located then AutoCad should say so. Eventually, after much frustration I put my folder in this location and it finally worked. C:\Autodesk\AutoCAD_2013_English_Win_64bit\x64\acad\Program Files\Root\Support\HATCH So tell me, why is it able to find the file here and nowhere else?
