Sounds like the menu did not reload possibly.

Do you have any user interface visible? Ribbon, Toolbars, Pull Down menus, etc?

If not, type in MENUNAME and press ENTER - what does it say?

Hi jklempner,

To get AutoCAD back to normal, please try the bellow:

1. Restore the customisations to the last saving point.
   In AutoCAD > type "CUI" > right click the customisations to be restored > choose  "...restore".
   
   
2. Reset all customisations back to the defaults.
   From Windows Start > All Programs > Autodesk > AutoCAD 201x > reset to defaults.

If you do not like to do that, please perform "rkmcswain's" steps and let us know the details.
