It says that the Auto option of the UNDO command groups commands, but which?

When do i use it

Aside from the description, what is it you wish to do/achieve that made you look it up?

I made, once, a lisp file with this option off, and now i don't remeber what it means.

I tried several zooms, and turned Auto on, it seems it combined all the zoom and pan commands, is it it?
