I am using Civil3D 2013 and am experiencing the same problem with random drawings. Very annoying bug!!

Same problem here I am running Infrastructure. The civil 3d users in the office are having issues as well.

Just wanted to put it out there that I too am having this problem randomly with Civl 3D 2013. Model space plan view automatically sets itself to 44.4 degrees on the XY axis and 0 degrees on the Z when switching from paperspace to model space. Easy thing to fix by setting the plan view to pre-saved UCS but a permanent fix would be nice.

I'm having the same problem here and it is very frustrating.

Does anyone have an idea when this might be fixed?

I am having the exact same isse with a project. The view rotation only happens with some of the drawing files. I have researched this issue and have not found a solution.

I don't know why it's doing it but it has something to do with having UCS not set to world and/or a twist to your view. Do this,

• Create a new drawing using the default template in C3D.
• Draw a rectangle.
• Run the DVIEW command and twist the view (I used 30 degrees).
• Switch to a layout.
• Switch back to the Model.
• You could also rotate the UCS around the Z axis in lieu of the DVIEW command.

Just a follow up (since I can't seem to be able to edit that last post). Those instructions aren't to fix the issue. It just shows what is happening and how to recreate it.

I am using Civil 3D 2013 and am having the same problem consistently. When i switch Layout tabs or open a drawing that has the Model Layout saved in an alternate UCS (any other than WCS) the view then "twists" to a parametric view.

There have been several suggestions as how to workaround this issue, that's great. I have found if you simply select Undo (Ctrl+Z) immediately following the drawing being opened and "twisting" the view or switching Layout tabs the view will go back to what you're expecting (plan view with your alternate UCS set).

Just thought I would share.

I noticed that this (Autodesk) reply was in May of 2012 and stated that they are aware of this problem.  I am still having this problem and it seems ridiculous that I have to use the command Plan (current) everytime I switch between paperspace and modelspace.  I recently received an update for my AutoCAD 2013 Map3D and I still have this problem.  Is anyone working on this still?  Its very disapointing to have to deal with a problem like this with software of this caliber.
