    Selecting entities - How Close?

It seems lately, last couple of weeks I am missing entities when I try to pick on them.

Not window, not crossing. Just trying to pick an entity. I usually select entities first before my command.

Is there a variable that might have changed?  I played with PICKBOX & APERTURE but this doesnt change anything when I try to select something. I can have the entity in the box right next to the intersection of the crosshairs and instead of selecting the entity it starts to window. I know it wasn't like this before.

    I have a logitech m705 mouse w/ setpoint software ver 6.32.7 & driver ver 5.33.14 installed.

    Thanks

    Rick

Thanks, it isnt pickfirst, but pickauto looks promising.  It was set to 2.

I could pick first but had to be right on top of the entity.

    Hi,

it is the variable PICKBOX that lets you define the minimum distance between cursor and entity for selection.

    Look this:

Thats what I thought !!!  It always used to.

    But it didnt help.

I think it is solved with the pickauto var.

Pickauto kind of makes the pickbox actually work.

I am still checking but I havent had the problem since I changed pickauto to 1 (it was 2).

Man it was driving me crazy.

    Nice video by the way.

    Rick.

I saw PICKAUTO already as one of your answers you needed. My video should be the answer to the thread-title and your first description of your issue with "how close". Anyway if you don't need it there may be some people coming in the future to read that :smileywink:

Yes, pickbox should be the answer to the question.

Except pickbox didn't work this time because pickauto seems to turn it off.

It has been working fine now.

    Thank you for your help.
