is there perhaps a "recommended requirements" page, or is this it?
because i've got a fairly recent build (no gaming rig, but way better than this) and load times are "meh, ok" and hatching anything more than a rectangle is still iffy.
running acad on those specs seems masochistic at best.

They always say "System Requirements" but I think what they mean is "Minimum System Requirements" just because it will run on a system doesent mean your Autocad experience will be an enjoyable one.
You didnt really mention what your machine is.
Nobody could make suggestions if they dont know what you are working with.
Are you trying to use intergrated video etc.?

Work process plays a large part in performance as well. Ive seen users try to use auto-selection when trimming lines along a polyline cloud consisting of a few *thousand* arcs; drawings with 40k+ annotation scales; trying to model an entire building in 3D, down to the nuts and bolts, in a single file. Even the best computers struggle when faced with that kind of heavy lifting.
If you are going to fly by the seat of your pants, expect friction burns.
Adopt. Adapt. Overcome. Or be overcome.
