Hi Bill, Erika,
Please can you check that the .DWG extension is correctly associated with AutoCAD?
(just try to double click one of the DWG icons and verify that AutoCAD 2013 is started correctly)
Also please can you check that if you open a file with AutoCAD, that the variable UPDATETHUMBNAIL is different to zero.
Does the problem appears also if you save the file with previous releases? (saveas as 2010, 2007)

Albert -
1) Yes, the .dwg is for AutoCAD.
2) UPDATETHUMBNAIL was set to 15 (the same as what Bill is set at).
3) THis is for all drawings, not matter what version they are saved as (2007 is our normal save as option).
Thanks,
Erika

I have the same problem, I correct it using the repair function then export using Migrate custom settings.
Every now and then it disappears again so I have to use the import the previously exported file. This corrects it until it happens again

Dennis,
I don't quite follow you.
Repair: Would that be the repair function under the Windows Control Panel, Programs and Features, Uninstall/Change?
Migrate / Export: Is that the Migrate Custom Settings program?
Thanks!

Goto Start>All Programs > Autodesk > AutoCAD Mechanical 2013
Select Reset settings to default
Open AutoCAD and set-up as you like it, close.
Then select Migrate Custom Settings and export to a Zip file

To avoid loosing your preview in the open dialog box use Open>DXF from the open dialog instead of typing DXFIN

This may or may not be a coincidence... Because of other issues we had here, I did a 'run as administrator' when re-installing DWG TrueView 2013. My previews show now.

i also have run the dxfin command and ran in to this issue as well. we found that creating a new profile solved the issue without having to do any repairs or reinstalls.

Erika,
See the attachment.
Do you mean that in windows explorer, under views you don't have these choices?
If you have them then you can choose (thumbnails), if not you can follow the solutions suggested by above contributors.
