    Exploding AECC General Label Segments?

I have received a Civil file with AECC Labels (they are Countour numbers) and I'm trying to either explode them or convert them to text objects in order to print.

For some reason, when I explode them they dissappear completely and I have to undo 3-4X to get them back, undoing previous commands in the process. I can't seem to edit them otherwise. The reason I'm exploding them is because CAD is not seeing these objects when plotting.

Does anyone have a lisp routine or any ideas to help me convert or modify the AECC Labels?

    Thanks!

1.Ask the recipient to "export to AutoCAD" for you.
    2. You can try it: -EXPORTTOAUTOCAD command (there is a dash in the name) and aim for R14.
