You didn't accidentally uncheck installing any of the help features when doing a custom installation by any chance, did you?  It seems like something went wrong in the install, or that feature was removed.  If no one else has a better solution, I would try running the installer again and repair the installation.

It is an ADN copy, and it appears that the help is not included (as i suppose us developers are suppose to know it? ...lol)

Is there a registry key or variable that i can set to prevent it from popping up?  I imagine that if it wasn't blank, there'd be a check box or button in regards to 'do not show this again'.

I did try re installing and there is no option to install help seperately.

This is for AutocAD 2012, but I would guess it would work for 2013:

And yes, normally there is a checkbox in the lower-left corner and a close button in the lower-right corner.

Thanks... that was a step in the right direction.

I wound up having to go to Options -> System Tab ->  Help and Welcome Screen... and UNCHECKING "Access online content when available"... now, the help & welcome screens display as they should.... strange.

Thanks again for the pointer.  - Lanny

I had the exact same problem you described.  I'd been closing the blank screen everyday for the last 3 months.  I followed what you said about accessing online help when available, and the issue is completely fixed.  Nice work!  I've been annoyed by this for a long time.

If you have a proxy server, this is likely causing the problem. FYI.

This happened to all our workstations when we first set them up here in the office. The problem was that they (as mentioned above) were not connecting to the internet, the proxy server was the problem. Call IT and tell them to open the ports AutoCad needs. Could be handy for DesignCenter content, Autodesk 360 access and the odd product update etc..
