I have been having an issue with AutoCAD 2013 and AutoCAD LT 2013 crashing when closing the program. This only seems to happen on the 32-bit version of the software. When we installed the 64-bit version on our 64-bit workstation the program did not crash.

We have tried this on 64 bit version and it seems works fine .
is it an reliability issue using the 32-bit version. Should we be moving our workstations to 64-bit to solve this problem?
I have attached both workstation specifications. Thanks for help.

We are using 32-bit on most our workstations but as we replace older units they will be running 64-bit. Some of our older printers do not have 64-bit drivers so running 32-bit was for convenience.

We removed and re-installed . NET Framework 4 and all was well to 2 days. However, today it crashed on exiting the software and now it crashes on every exit from AutoCAD LT 2013. Not sure what happened but I did get the error file (attached).

I have/had a similar problem. AutoCAD 2013 x64 would crash everytime I closed the application. Based on the tip about re-installing .NET Framework, I figured I'd give it a shot. I discovered I had .NET 4.5 RC installed and rolled it back to version "4 Extended" (4.0.30319) and AutoCAD was able to close without crashing. I'm going to start installing the security updates without actually making it all the way up to version 4.5 and see how that goes. I'l report back with my results.
Thanks for the tip!
My PC is as follows:
Win 7 x64
i7-3960X (O.C. to 4.5 GHz)
32Gb Corsair Dominator RAM - running a 16Gb RAM Disc for all Autodesk applications / 16Gb for system use
Asus P9X79 WS Mobo
nVidia GTX-580 Classified
I initially thought the RAM Disc may have been the culprit. I'm glad that it doesn't appear that way ![]()

I just installed the 5 available security updates for .NET Framework 4:
KB2604121
KB2656351
KB2656368v2
KB2656405
KB2686827
The problem appears to have been resolved! I did take notice that the AutoCAD message center just informed me that SP1 for AutoCAD 2013 is available. I will install that and report back IF there is any instability after updating. Thanks!
