My two colleagues are both experiencing issues running SutoCAD 2013. They have Lenovo W520 laptops running Win7 64bit and get random erroes - FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x262c2f78 Exception at 775c32d0h. I had heard that there may have been a clash with .NET so I removed & reinstalled it but thus made no difference. Any ideas?

Hi,
can you give us a little bit more info about the exception?
- When does it occure?
- How often does AutoCAD crash? Every 10min or once a week?
- Specific documents or also new ones (based on AutoCAD original templates)
- Where the documents checked with _AUDIT?
- Are the exception messages always the same or are they different?
- Have you tried to give the users temporary local admin-rights?
- Have they already toggled the hardware-acceleration-switch (command _3DCONFIG ==> Manual tune)
- .... and what have they tried yet?
Every info you can give more than "it crashes" will result in more efficient way for handling that. ![]()

Hi Alfred, Sorry for my vague post. These issues typically occur between 1-3 times a day and with both 2D and 3D drawings. The error message varies - sometimes it is an access violation but mainly it is the 'AutoCAD has stopped responding' message. Have tried auditing the files - 0 errors....and the issues occur with both custom files and acad.dwt etc. With regards to graphics acceleration - one is set to hardware & one is set to software but the problems remain on both machines. Our network restrictions prevent users from having admin rights. Typically the users have Outlook, Lync & Internet Explorer open at the same time but even when AutoCAD is the only program open the issues occur.... I am totally confused!! Thanks, Karl

Turn off Win7's AERO Theme and use only the Windows Basic Theme: this fixes most random crashes for most users.
As for "not responding", that usually (not always) means the PC in question is too busy with something else (or something is scanning AutoCAD forcing it to pause). Can't tell what an easy fix for that is... .
