    AutoCAD 2013 Crash on start

As soon as I start up AutoCAD 2013 or 2012 64-bit, it loads all the way through and I get an error message:

FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Writing 0x0000 Exception at 0h

I have uninstalled and  reinstalled AutoCAD multiple times, followed the clean install instructions, and I simply cannot figure out what is going on.

I have run as administrator, run in compatability for XP and 7, run with the onboard graphics, run with my nVidia card, and have had no results. Boot in Safe Mode, no changes. Disabled my Antivirus when installing, and when running, no difference. Installed SP1, no difference. I have tried about every standard fix out there.

    Specs:

    Windows 8 64-bit

    Intel i7 processor

    8GB RAM

nVidia GT 540M 2G graphics card

I would love some help on this problem, I have no idea what is going on here.

    Hi,

Run a systemtest that includes testing your harddisk and your memory.

With all what you tried .. plus 2012 and 2013 show the same effect: that sounds like a hardware problem (or driver to hardware).

Using an unsupported O/S is probably to blame.

    Hi,

    >> your also using an unsupported OS for Autocad

wow, now we have one OP that gives full system-specs (great!) and I missed it. http://www.smiliemania.de/smilie132/00008513.gif

Thx to Darren that he looked to it!

my guess this is probably a .net issue

you can look here for issues & wokarounds for Windows 8: http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/forums/searchpage/tab/message?q=windows+8

So far, no luck. All of these blame the .NET Framework as the problem, and offer solutions, none successful yet. Hopefully Autodesk can patch 2013 for Windows 8 or fix it in 2014.

IIRC....recent history has shown that the first full version (usually in March/April) released _after_ a new Windows O/S will support that new O/S.

I don't recall Autodesk releasing service packs to provide support for an existing version of AutoCAD on a _new_ Windows O/S, at least not prior to the release of the next version.
