AutoCAD 2013/2014 DWG Format

Have a 25-key package with Autodesk, made an image, Autocad2013 worked fine on the image. Put the image on 22 computers. Every single computer originally loaded up Autocad2013 fine for the activation. Shortly after, on about half of the computers (all same specs/vid card) once AutoCad 2013 loads, the application just closes. No error messages or anything. Just closes.

-Turned off Aero theme

-Turned off communcations control in the registry

-Disabled the Antivirus (even though it has Autocad2013 as trusted

-tried /nohardware in the target path

-Reset the default AutoCAD2013 profile

-Repaired the application in add/remove programs

Inventor/Revis DOES still open and work fine. However Autocad/Arch, close instantly after the load screen is finished.

I have autocad 2013 working fine on a another computer, without the video card, with Aero on, with all default settings working fine. However on half the computers of my 22 computer lab, it closes on start up.

Windows 7 enterprise SP1, 64-bit, AMD64x2 dual core, 8gb ram, ATI basic video card

I had a problem where it would crash immediately when any file was opened. Below is the Autodesk fix that worked for that problem.

- Click Start
- Click Autodesk
- Click AutoCAD 2013
- Click "Restore to Default Settings" then follow the command prompts.

Thanks for the response. I saw that in another thread and gave it a try. It hasn't worked for me yet on any of the units. I'm going to try and reinstall Autocad.

Well good luck, I am giving up on it. I tried to edit the enterprise cui and it now will not run again until I reset to default. I think this '13 has topped the previous legendary worst release; R13.

I've been browsing around in that /ADLM directory and theres a file called ACD2013ENUAdlm and in this .txt file it looks like I found the logs of the crashes:

The line of "The license checkout was cancelled by the user" I was working with someone else at the time and I believe that they may have clicked out of the initial activation screen.

Almost 100% sure the activation error/license fail corrupted the installation. In addition to this, if you go back 1 directory there's another directory with a file that lists all the error codes as well. Pretty neat stuff.

reimaged all of the failing computers and 8/9 of them worked so far today. 

it would be nice if Activation was easier...Seems like a lot of work to activate after the image instead of backing it up after activation.

I'm really disappointed with Autodesk company. I feel like the entire activation process is really poor the way it's designed and set up. I hope in the future you can design a better way to do activations.

If other companies sold AutoCAD or a similar product, I would not buy from Autodesk again. The service is terrible. The activation codes never work, activation screen says key has been activated too many times. The key is permanent and only activated on 20 computers, when its a 25 key-license.

I really don't like this Autodesk company anymore. I really feel bad for anyone that works for such a failing company in Autodesk. Surely the activation process could be simplier and more effictive. It should be their new priority to fix because it's so bad and such a joke.

Why are keys split into either standalone or networked? Why can't you just have 1 key for each location (buyer) with "xx" amount of licenses on that key?

I know that this is an old thread, but I wanted to add my solution for this same issue with both Revit and Inventor on my computer.  I had the Flexnet service disabled on mine, so it couldn't start to verify the licensing.  I set the service to Manual, and Revit started the service and verified the licensing.
