AutoCAD 2013/2014 DWG Format

I'm having a minor issue with Autocad 2013 at the moment. I use the Quick Properties box to change a lot of my object properties, but since changing from 2012 to 2013, I have noticed QP doesn't recognise the selection of any objects. I have attached a screenshot showing what I mean. Anyone else had this issue and successfully resolved it?

Hi,

if that happens in all drawings with all type of objects I saw (for previous AutoCAD releases) that a repair-installation had helped in most cases.

May be resetting the AutoCAD profile also helps (to be found in Windows-Start-menu ==> Autodesk ==> AutoCAD 2013... ==> there you find the option). But make sure to first save your current profile and workspaces!.

But check first other drawings and other element-types.

I tried the repair install when I got the chance, to no avail. It happens for all objects in all drawings that I open. One of my workmates is adamant that there is an option somewhere in the program that causes this, but he can't remember any details of the fix or command etc.

It's not a huge issue as I just keep using 2012, but I like using the latest if it is on my computer, so it's a bit annoying.

looking at your screenshot, the quick properties dialog is not displayed. The Properties palette is however.

I'm not sure I understand your issue. Is it the Properties palette is not showing the object type or the quick prop dialog is not being displayed when you select the object?

Yeah, properties are not displaying in the pallette. They don't appear in the Quick Properties popup box either when I have that turned on. Bit of an odd one, it seems like the objects aren't recognising to display the properties. Happens to any object I select.

Can't say I've come across that before. I don't know of any setting or variable to turn that function on or off. I would expect it to be part of the architecture of the software...

Cheers mate, I've fixed two of my firm's machines with that fix. Not sure which part helped (the uninstallation of Navisworks or the full repair install of Autocad), but the voodoo worked!

That was weird, I did the repair and that appearantly did nothing, I tryed shutting down AutoCAD a few times with no luck, so I turned off my computer and left for the day. But I come in on Monday and the prpperties magically appreared. makes no sense, other that me running a bunch of legacy lisps from older versions of AutoCAD causing the problems.

But I still can't publish or plot in the backgroung. it just says publishing job forever. has anyone had this issue?
