Hello from France

Welcome to the Autodesk/AutoCAD forums !

Not sure to well understand your question !?

Do you mean that you have many XREF with many layers which have the same name in each XREF ?

And you want to switch on/off, change color, etc quickly on ALL these layers ?

Bye, Pat

Options:

1) Create a layer filter (in the layer dialog).  Then you can group layers of like internal layer name and control the properties by group.

2) Use the command line version of the layer command to turn layers on or off

Example:  -layer on *mylayername

LAYOFF and pick'em

Message 8 of 10

yeah i know i must do lay off but i need to do this a lot 30 layers in 24 xrefs

Create one layer filter with multiple filter definitions

EX:

*|*-door

*|*-window

*|*-eqpm

I think you get the idea, find things that are common among all or many of the layers and keep adding filter definitions in a single layer filter.

You're not quite getting it.

-layer off  *layer1,*layer2,*layer3,*layer4.......

One command, hundreds of layers controlled by groups.

The layer filter approach using the layer dialog is a way to save the layer filters.  As Grant said, you can also include the filter this way *|*layer1,*|*layer2.... but that is not usually necessary unless you have lots of very similarly named layers.
