smooth line display question

On my computer, with smooth line display enabled, the lines look slightly out of focus.  Yes, curved and angled lines are smoother but they are not crisp; it's like a slightly soft focus on a camera.

Is that the way it's supposed to look?  Is it my computer or some setting in AutoCAD?

I only see the soft focus in print previews.  In Paper and Model spaces lines look as crisp as ever, with curved objects displayed a bit better.

You can try to set LINEFADING to OFF to see if that helps at all.

If SELECTIONEFFECT is set to the new default 1 (blue), the selected items look fuzzier to me.  With SELECTIONEFFECT set to the old 0 (dashed), that goes away.  (Do note that at least some people are experiencing reduced performance when selecting objects with SELECTIONEFFECT set to 0).

I think I got caught up on semantics.  Lines are as crisp as ever, but arcs and circles do have a sort of soft focus with LINESMOOTHING set to ON.  I think that's just the nature of smoothing out the curved segments.

I think it's normal to see a bit of fuzziness if you choose not to see the jaggies.
