disable "save as DWG?" when saving a .dxf file

I work with both .dxf and .dwg files regularly.  When I go to save a .dxf file (_QSAVE), I am always asked if I want to convert to .dwg...it's as if I'm being "persuaded" to switch to .dwg.  Is there a way to disable this?  Thanks.

Try setting your default file type to DXF

Without this set, I only get prompted to save as DWG at the first Qsave and when I close the drawing.

Are you being prompted each and every Qsave?

If I change that setting, won't it basically reverse my problem?

Now that you mention it, I only get prompted on the first _qsave.  However, I have to open up a large number of .dxf files and work on them quickly then close them, so it's still an annoyance.

Perhaps you can create a second profile, so you have one DXF and one DWG, and jump between them based on your workflow?

Second profile sounds good.  No idea how to creat or select one, I'll have to invetigate that.
