Acad cannot open all of my files, only some. I have sp-1 installed, this may have happend automatically. Could this be the issue? All my files can be opened on other machines running acad lt 2014 without the sp-1.
Hi,
what happens if you try to open the drawing using command _RECOVERALL (instead of _OPEN)?

I just tried using the recover all command
i get a message that acad is not responding
this is on a machine running windows 8.1, if that matters
Hi,
>> a machine running windows 8.1
And what os do the other workstations have installed?
If you copy the file to your local drive and open it from that postion (hoping it has no XRefs), same issue?

THE OTHER MACHINES ARE RUNNING WINDOWS 7
I JUST TRANSFERRED THE FILE TO THE HARD DRIVE ON MY COMPUTER, AND IT OPENED TO 24%, STOPPED, AND THE MESSGE IS "NOT RESPONDING"
Hi,

Is there any other system on Win8.1 that can open that drawing without a time lag?
Did it work before you installed SP1? Or was AutoCAD LT just installed and never worked?
You might try to start AutoCAD as administrator, does that make differences?

......and/or any other user new to this machine, so that you are working with a fresh Windows profile and AutoCAD LT profile
FIRST, I DID NOT INSTALL SP-1, I THINK IT HAPPENDED AUTOMATICALLY.
BUT, I WALKED AWAY FROM MY MACHINE FOR ABOUT 1/2 HOUR AND WHEN I CAME BACK A FILE HAD OPENED WHICH HAD BEEN NOTED "NOT RESPONDING"
SO, SOMETHING IS JUST SLOWING DOWN SOME FILES.
I WOULD REMOVE SP-1 IF I KNEW HOW.

It's possible that the drawings suffer from the DGN Linetype Bloat issue.
Hi,
If you look to the taskmanager while AutoCAD is loading a file, what processes use most of the power?
