When I try to attach an xref drawing, it wont appear on the model space.

The xref appears in layout only, but not the model space. Are there any settings to do in order to view the xref in model space?

First detach the xref from Layout if still attached. Xref's aren't often attached from Layout.

One exception to this here is we do attach title block 1:1 borders to Layout.

From within Model Space attach the Xref.

Then for sheet plots etc. create a Viewport on the Layout Tab. The xref will appear in the Viewport.

Finally set to desired scale with Viewport Scale.

Layout is normally a 1:1 scale, think of this as the sheet your printing.

Model represents project coordinates etc. at their actual units / dimensions.

At least that's the normal workflow for every discipline we work with.

Thanks, I did initially attached the xref in Model Space but it won't appear on the model space. In the xref panel it does show the xref attached but I cannot see it in the model space. I just checked by clicking into layout and it comes up there. I've just read in order to see the attachement in model space I would have to 'z, space, enter, e, enter'? But it's still not doing it.

It also matters how the file being xrefd is set up, if it was created in MS it should show up, but not if the Xref's entities are drawn in Layout.

Open the xref your trying to attach, are the entities all drawn in Layout here?

Hmm, yes it was created in MS. I'm gonna try a few more things and see what might work.
