What do you use to send and backup your AutoCAD files?

Hi all,

What do you use to send and backup your AutoCAD files?

I've heard of CADCloud which looks good: http://mycadcloud.com

What other CAD - specific solutions are there around?

Thanks,

John - CAD Engineer

Welcome to the Autodesk Forums!

You can also try Autodesk solution:

Autodesk 360

You can have 5 Gb free account, or more with Subscription (25 Gb).

Hey Maxim,

Thanks for the info. 5GB won't be enough for me.

I'm struggling to find the pricing info for a larger account.

Do you know the price for 25GB?

I think that actually it is the price of Subscription for Autodesk product you own (if any), and it depends on reseller.

For sending files - we use Basecamp at my office. It works well, lets you manage files into directories by project, and will email team members to let them know new files are available.

For backup/storage we use a raid 5 server with daily  backups to an exernal drive at my office; a bit pricey to start, but very dependable in the long run.

I have a lack of trust in cloud storage services (especially free ones). Just think about how much google respects user privacy (and I have gmail for personal use...), you just can't expect free services to respect your data privacy.

You want to backup to the cloud, as a second backup or as your one and only primary backup?
Do you want tracking for when you send files?

Almost any internet company out there sells cloud services, what's so special to your needs that any one of these 50+ services may provide?

Google Drive, Microsoft SkyDrive, Dropbox, Box.net, Autodesk 360, HP Cloud, Xerox, Almost all Anti-Virus vendors, and so many more.
