Viewports not displaying (ACAD Architecture 2015)

I have a problem with my viewports not displaying and disappearing when trying to copy them, sycronize them, and create new ones.

When I create new ones, existing viewports disappear, leaving just the viewport frame. I cannot edit them, or activate them. However when I select them, it shows up as viewports in properties. Also I have drawn them on separate layers dedicated to my viewports. They are not on Defpoints layers.

The other odd thing is the viewports plot correctly and show up correctly in print preview.

I have a brand new computer workstation with the latest Nvidia Quadro graphics card and 32 GB of RAM.

this problem happens for one particular file. when I open a new drawing from our template or another drawing the problem does not occur. I am holding off on doing a wblock at last resort.

See attahced images.

Check your "MAXACTVP" system variable.  This variable is stored per DWG.

A quick thought... (I have not actually downloaded your drawings)...
Due to the fact that it seems to be localized to a single drawing try the
MAXACTVP drawing variable

Thank you that solved it. How does one know all the system variables? It's mind boggling.

The fastest way to look through them is to use the Express Tools System Variable tool.

For me it's a matter of 17 years of experience... running into things like this, searching help (and later the communities) for what could be causing such a problem, etc...

Hello All,

I have a tab in which the viewport border is not showing,

What is the setting for  MAXACTVP between 2 & 64?

See attached jpeg file..

The viewport border is at the tip of the yellow arrow but does not show.

Thanks,

Tommy
