Unreasonable file space

Dear Recipient,

Good day.

This is about a problem we're facing regarding file size. It is a simple 2-D drawing on AutoCAD 2013. File sizes are surprisingly exceeding 20 MB. Moreover, any modifications to the drawings, the file immediately adds on around 2 MB's. 

We have already tried opeing the drawings using older versions and then purging and still it didn't work, as adviced by other colleagues who previously faced the same issue and still nothing happened.

Please reply as soon as possible regarding this situation, as it is holding us back when it comes to transfering or uploading them via the internet.

I'm almost completely sure, that the case of the issue is in DGN linetypes.

Have you tried to WBLOCK the whole drawing to the disk as new file?

If its due to DGN linetypes try AutoCAD DGN hotfix
