Hi all,
I'm trying to get Autocad to use my 'uncertified' GTX760 as its default card.
It keeps reverting to the internal Intel HD P3000 onboard chip.
I have tried changing the BIOS video setting (Auto, PEG & PCI choices only)
Auto: GTX760 not used. Defaults to Intel HD.
PEG (PCI-E device): GTX760 not used. Defaults to Intel HD.
PCI (PCI device): GTX760 not used. Defaults to Intel HD.
The device appears and works fine in 3DSMax Design 2014 (card appears as CUDA device in iRay rendering dialogue).
Anyone know how to get it working with Autocad 2015?
I have the latest driver for the card installed.

Hi,
what makes you thinking that AutoCAD is using the wrong card?
When you have installed the nVidia software you should have the option to right-click onto the AutoCAD icon and chose the graphic card to use for that app.
And there is also the nVidia control panel, there you can set the graphic system to use for every single application:
(sorry for the German screenshot, I have only the German driver installed)
HTH, - alfred -
I don't have a solution for you, but I just wanted to let you know you're not alone. I think Autodesk changed something in how it's reading cards now because pre-AutoCAD 2015 AutoCAD always found my card. It's the same system and I had never changed anything in my BIOS before this. Fortunately for me, I was able to force the use of my graphics card with a BIOS setting (changed from "Auto" to "Enable if no EXT PEG - Disable onboard GPU if GPU exists in the PEG slot").
It's possible that upgrading your BIOS or graphics drivers would help, but I wouldn't hold my breath. I'm hoping Autodesk will resolve this on their own soon. As far as I can tell, they don't have a list of any certified cards for 2015 up yet. I'm just guessing a lot of graphics issues that have surfaced in 2015 so far will be fixed once they've hammered out updated drivers with AMD and NVIDIA and start adding "certified" cards.
Hi Alfred,
I don't have all the settings you have in your Nvidia Control Panel, see below.
It's a bit of a mystery alright.

I'm installing AutoCad 2015 LT on a few other workstations now, they have ASUS EN210 (GeForce 210)s in them. I wonder if that card will be ignored too?

LT recognoises the ASUS EN210s alright.

hi,

What version of nVidia driver do you have?
When you start command _3DCONFIG, what videocard is displayed on top of the dialog?

nVidia driver version is in my signature below.
Screengrab of 3dconfig dialog included below too.

Hi,

Sorry, have not seen it (not looked to the details within the line).
It's interesting that the _3DCONFIG reports the Intel as used, but the nVidia as "Primary".
If you right-click onto the AutoCAD-icon, do you have the option to choose the graphic card to use? See my (German) screenshot:

Well, my ideas a at the end now (for the moment), sorry!

On my current notebook I have a Quadro K1000M, and my driver version is 332.76, but I had also to update my drivers before I get my cursor clean in AutoCAD 2015.

Ahh, it must be one of the purported features of Quadros fabled 'Optimised Drivers' then.

Not really, I only installed the default driver, the "Performance Driver for AutoCAD" does not work since many releases now for AutoCAD, I guess the last was for 2009 or 2010, when AutoCAD let gc-vendors install there own drivers additional to the standard ones from Autodesk.
The driver I installed, is this one:

Just an update for those of you with AMD FirePro cards. I've been in contact with a representative at AMD who told me the drivers on their website do not currently support AutoCAD 2015. He said they expect to have a driver that supports AutoCAD 2015 by the end of April.
AutoCAD has updated their list of certified cards, but the certified driver they're listing for my card (and most likely all AMD cards) is inaccurate.

I've been on to nvidia too, for GTX support. I'll let you know if something happens, they say there is a Beta up on the driver page now. But not sure if it's working yet as I am away from the workstation.

Beta Nvidia driver didn't work. Card was/still not seen by AutoCad 2015.
Card works fine with iRay in Max Design 2015.
Need to catch up lads 🙂
Is there anyone else here with a GTX760, and AutoCad 2015?
