Scales

Hi I have a contour map at 1:1000 and I want to make it 1:40000 so I can export it into sketchup to make a 3D model. Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Is the map not drawn (in model space) at 1:1?

In what sense is it currently "at 1:1000"?

When I plot it at 1:1 its coming out at 1:1000

For a 1:40,000 scale, use the SCALELISTEDIT command to create a new scale factor that is a 1:40 ratio

Scale names aren't necessarily the same as the value; they could be called Fred, Wilma, and Barney.  In particular with civil design work, you will see scales which are off by a factor of a thousand (1:1000 name is actually 1:1) since the model space is in meters and paper space is in millimeters.  So make sure the scale(s) you are using are, in fact, what you intend them to be.
