I've been trying to achieve a render of the "Source" attached drawing to look like the "Good" render (attached) but always comes out like the "Bad" render.
I am looking for directions on Render Settings to achieve a result much like the "Good" Render.
Appreciate the help. Thanks

The best way I find to create realistic looking materials is to create a material using a texture rather than trying to replicate using colours, so google image search for a good gold texture. Hope that helps.
do the following:
Draw a box under the object (negative height) to serve as the ground plane.
Add a metal material to your solid with rmat (suggest metal 2400F).
Set the background to a dark color (suggest black).
Set the view you want.
If the default lighting doesn't give you what you want, add lights or a sun.
