Problem to draw arrows by pline

I don't know how did it happen. When I did the confirmation after I drew the arrow, it shrank to be small. Like the pictures attached.

Welcome to the Autodesk Forums!

Hi,

Does this happens every time or just once?

You can check polylne width at each vertex (both start and end) with Properties palette - select polyline, than "walk" through vertexes in Geometry section with Vertex field.

What do you see?

Hi Maxim:

Thank you for your reply. Acturally, when I open the Orthographic Mode, it didn't happen. In addition, when I draw the arrow head individually without the tail, it was also normal.

I am really sorry to say I cannot totally understand your answer. I learnt the software several years ago and almost forget everything till now. At present, I am forced to pick it up because of my job.

Regards,

Brian

Hello

Welcome to the Autodesk/AutoCAD forums !

Maybe a stupid idea !

Could you select the objects in Capture Mode ?

Have you ONLY Pline Entities or have you some very old Trace Entities ?

Bye, Pat

Hi Brian,

That is what I'm talking about:

Screen Shot 2013-10-22 at 17.10.56.png

Here is Command prompt output during creation of polyline you see on screenshot:

Command:  PLINE
Specify start point:
Current line-width is 0.0000
Specify next point or [Arc/Halfwidth/Length/Undo/Width]: w
Specify starting width <0.0000>: 10
Specify ending width <10.0000>:
Specify next point or [Arc/Halfwidth/Length/Undo/Width]:
Specify next point or [Arc/Close/Halfwidth/Length/Undo/Width]: w
Specify starting width <10.0000>: 40
Specify ending width <40.0000>: 0
Specify next point or [Arc/Close/Halfwidth/Length/Undo/Width]:
Specify next point or [Arc/Close/Halfwidth/Length/Undo/Width]:
Command:

Have you tried to turn off object snap during polyline creation?

Maxim

Does this issue with creating arrow with different polyline width happens in all files or just in one?
Could you post your file here (or just a portion of it with polyline already created as in your screenshot #3 from your first post)?

Maxim

It is not always. I tried this afternoon again, it happened occasionally.  The attachments include the command prompting and the process to the end. In addition, you will see some Chinese words as I use traditional Chinese as the language. If you don't know that, just focus on the command and foget about the Chinese things.

Thank you very much Maxim

Brian

Hi Brian,

I was able to reproduse your issue with polyline.

It looks like a bug (or feature?) of polylines with variable width.

If you will try to stretch with grips the end of polyline with constant width - you will see such effect.

Hi Maxim:

Thank you. It is now very clear for me with your help.  Today I am studying layout printing. How to put the pictures in the model into the layout with certain scale and place. In addition, I have no ideal about  the command "MView".

By the way, do you use some chat tools, like whatsapp, skype, msn or anything else? I sincerely want to be more closer to you.

Best Regards,

Brian LUO

Hi Brian,

You can use IMAGEATTACH command to place raster images in Model and in Layout, than adjust scale with SCALE command.
About MVIEW command - you can use it to create Viewports in Layout (one ore more). After you create them, you can set scale foe each viewport and set Layer overrides (if you need them)
Here are a couple of links to video tutorials about creating Viewports in Paperspace in AutoCAD:

About chat tools - yes I'm using Skype and iMessage you can send me PM on this case.

Maxim
