Polar Tracking and Ortho Mode issues

I am having trouble with the Polar Tracking and Ortho mode features. When either of them is enabled, I am only allowed to draw vertical lines. Any other shape such as a circle or a rectangle will only appear as a vertical line. Arcs won't work at all. Changing which angle is checkmarked in the polar tracking flyout has no effect. Also, since these troubles began, I can only checkmark one angle at a time on the polar tracking flyout. 

The settings button on the Ortho mode flyout is greyed out altogether.

Also of note is that the grid display disapeared at the same time that these troubles began, and will not show, regardless of whether the button is enabled.

The problem seems to have started when I fumbled a command in the command line, but I didn't think to scroll up and see what I had done until after I had tried closing and re opening the program.

Hopefully this is something simple that I've overlooked. Thanks for any help.

I have also determined that this problem is unique to a single file, and that reseting autoCAD to it's default settings did not fix the problem.
