Hi,
Points began showing up in my xref'd file. When I click them, they select the xref, so they are objects and not artifacts. I can XLIST the points in the xref and turn on/off those layers but in the base file, these points do not exist anywhere.
This is the only article I could find on the mystery dots: http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?69338-Can-t-get-rid-of-dots
I tried the solution to COPYBASE, delete all, and purge, but they persist. It is happening on at least two layers.
Thanks for the help!
Zach
Is it the line style dots, or are they individual points?
Can you post the offending xref drawing so we can have a look?
If possible can you also post the drawing that you call the xref from so we can see if we can recreate the problem?

I wonder if this could be a PDMODE issue. (Set differently in the two DWGs?)
You got it!
Wow and thanks so much for the solution. I was just about to post file showing it in action but PDMODE solved it.
Take care,
Zach
I have over 35 years of experience with AutoCAD! This is the 1st time I had this happen to a drawing. Who in the world would set PDMODE to 1? I could easily delete the points by editing the xref but couldn't see the points in the xref.
Thanks!
Fixed the problem.

"Who in the world would set PDMODE to 1?"
Someone that didn't want to see the points?
