PDF VERSION CREATED BY AUTOCAD

I would like to know if there is any relation between the version of autocad used and the output version of PDF that it creates?  Example:  If a pdf file is created by the latest version of autocad, will it require the latest version of adobe acrobat or the latest pdf viewer to be able to view the pdf?  OR, are pdf's created by autocad viewable by any version of adobe acrobat or pdf viewers?

No, they do not change that frequently.
AutoCAD to date only creates a version 1.6 PDFs (Acrobat 7 and higher needed), which is pretty generic.
