The dialog box for MText is turned off. How do I turn it back on so I can edit text from the editor?

Check these two Variables (both need to be ON for Double Click Editing)
PICKFIRST (0 = OFF 1 = ON)
DBLCLKEDIT (0 = OFF 1 = ON)
Are you sure it's MTEXT? Single-line text has an in-place editor too, just with fewer features.
A screenshot of what you're seeing or a or sample drawing would be helpful here.
I am positive. The properties box calls it MTEXT. I am using 2012 Map 3D, and it may be a bug with this version.
Thank you,
I'm not familar with MAP, but I assume it uses the Ribbon. Are you trying to have the Text Formatting box (below) visible while using the Ribbon?
That's a start...what does the rest of your screen look like? 🙂 Map 2012 has a ribbon, where many contextual tools are now located. Are you using it, or have you turned it off?
That toolbar is turned off by default when using the Ribbon, so it seems you may have lost some of your customizations in the crash. Perhaps you're using a different profile now?
It is the same profile. I had it happen before, but couldn't remember the how I fixed it. I also have to turn filedia on alot in 3D map. Thanks for the infomation.
How do I turn on a dialog box for text so I can edit text from the editor bar, like with Mtext?
See attached screen shot, I wanna make only some things another color.
Thanks for any info.
