Good morning everyone,
I hope this is a simple question with a simple answer. I want to have Line Smoothing turned off permanently. I get into a drawing, turn it off, work in the drawing and eventually close AutoCAD. Once I reopen 2015, the line smoothing is turned back on again. Is there a variable or something I can do keep it off? Thanks.
Brian
The LINESMOOTHING sysvar is saved in the registry according to the documentation, so either that is wrong or you have some startup code turning it back on.
LINESMOOTHING (System Variable) Specifies whether anti-aliasing is turned on or off. Currently, the system variable applies to 2D objects in 2D wireframe visual styles. Type: Integer Saved in: Registry Initial value: ON OFF Specifies anti-aliasing is off. ON Specifies anti-aliasing is on. Note: You can also use 0 (OFF) and 1 (ON) to set LINESMOOTHING system variable.
Hello
Yes LINESMOOTHING is a NEW 2015 variable !
And it can be enable/disable from : OPTIONS / System / Graphic Performance
Please look at the JPG ...

Yes I know how to disable the linesmoothing. What I'm saying is that if I close and then reopen AutoCAD, the linesmoothing is turned back on. I have to disable it everytime I open 2015.
So open 2015 and before you do anything else, type in DBMOD and enter.
What does it return?
Anything other than 0 and you have some startup code doing something.
Now start running the "U" command until you cannot undo anymore. Did that undo the LINESMOOTHING sysvar change perhaps?
(BTW: I would test it myself, but I don't have 2015 in front of me at the moment)
I was able to verify that is does not change for me, but in the 2015 Beta Release Candidate version.
So I supposed it's possible that they changed the behavior of LINESMOOTHING in between that and the shipping version (EDIT: or NOT, based on Dean's reply just above)
You could also create (or append if you already have) an ACADDOC.LSP file and add the following to it:
(setvar "linesmoothing" 0)
Make sure this file exists somewhere in your support file search path.
If you do this, and it works for you, try the DBMOD command again after a fresh startup. It should still be 0.
