Is there a sticky notes feature in AutoCAD?

Using AutoCAD 2014.

I want to be able to add sticky style notes to ACAD objects/models/parts. The ideal would be to rt-click an object and have a Notes item available in the popup menu. But I'll consider anything that works similar. I don't want to make a trip to the desktop (I know about Sticky Notes, etc). I want the note stored with the part.

I've googled for AutoCAD Sticky Notes and primarily only found a bunch of sticky.software.informer.com stuff.

An add-On would be fine.

Thanks,

Yes, that's a nice Inventor feature, and it is what I want but I need it in ACAD.

Thanks,

Use HYPERLINK, it's part of autocad, hover and it'll show whatever note you want.

... Or just write the note using MTEXT and assign it a yellow background mask.
Or do the same with a unique MLEADER style.

Good idea.

Its a little roundabout, but you might want to consider Markup Set Manager and DWF files.  It allows for both text and graphic markups, and as DWF content they can be reviewed and modified by non-AutoCAD users.

Civil3D Properties Palette  has a tab for Extended Data, and it's simple to add notes to any object there.

Express Tools has an option to Add XData, and read it back. I would suspect that someone in the customization forum has put together a LISP routine to simplify that process.

Thanks I didn't know about HYPERLINK. I tried it out and it does work somewhat. Better than nothing.

MTEXT also works, and is what I've used in past but you have to orient your view correctly to read it.
