Include "Handle" on my attribute extract file

Hello All.

I've been googling and experimenting for awhile.

When I use the command ATTOUT I create a text document that includes the "handle" column.

When I use the wizard I can't seem to generate this column??? by any means I know.

I'm trying to generate an attribute extract out that includes block handle, my attributes and position x,y,z

I want to edit that in excel, then reimport to AutoCAD. Hence the handle requirement.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Have you tried the "ATTIN" command to re-import the block information? I havn't had any problems with this express tool before. I'm assuming the wizard you're talking about is the one in MS excel?

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I'm using ATTIN just fine.

When I use ATTOUT I get: handle, block name, all of my attributes.

What I can't seem to get are block properties...such as it's x and y positition.

I've been trying via a template as well.

When I use the wizard...eattext. I get all of the properties, but not block handle.

Kind of a 3 step thing at the moment.

The easiest thing I would say right now is to create 3 "position" attributes and use a lookup field point to the block position. When you use ATTOUT I believe you'll have the values you need.
