How do we push customise options during network deployment of AutoCAD 2014

Hello everyone,

I am quite new to this forum and also AutoCAD network deployment. In my previous job we used to install ACAD as standalone installations and could set the template files, plot style table search path etc at that point.

We tried setting these settings and then packaging the install for deployment however the changes were not maintained and ACAD has installed with the default settings.

Can you please guide me in how to push template location, plot style location and some other options across the network.

For clarity we are installing both AutoCAD LT 2014 and AutoCAD 2014. We do not plan to utilise AutoCAD Architecture at this stage.

I am aware that we should use a file called acad2014doc.lsp or similar but am unfamililar with coding etc.

The settings I wish to change are:

Options > Files (Tab)

  • Plot Style Table Search Path
  • Template Settings (all 4 settings)

Options > Open and Save (Tab)

  • File Save > Save as: AutoCAD 2013 drawing (.dwg)
  • Auto Save = 5 minutes

What's everyones thoughts on having the auto add sclaes to anno objects set on as default?

Many thanks for your help in advance.

Close, but not quite. You should make use of the files "acad.lsp" and "acaddoc.lsp". Acad2014doc.lsp is reserved for use by Autodesk.

See these articles [one], [two], for more details on that.^^^^

....and post back with any more questions.

Note that LISP won't work for LT; I'm not certain if ARG based profile settings work either.  In that case, you will need to investigate using REG files to modify the AutoCAD profile settings in HKEY_CURRENT_USER *after* the secondary installer has run.
