HOW DO I ADD OBJECTS TO AN ARRAY?

I have created an array that I want to modify by adding additional objects to it. How is this done? I have searched high and low, back and forth, up and down and every which way to answer this and I can't find anything that says if you can do this, or can't do this. If the only answer is to rearray everything with the additional objects included I will jam another poison dart in my autocad voodoo doll and move on I suppose.

Thanks in advance.

The two commands you want are ARRAYEDIT and ARRAYCLOSE.

Enter ARRAYEDIT and make your changes (manually or by copying your additional objects in).  Enter ARRAYCLOSE and Y to save the changes.

Work:  AutoCAD 2022.1.3, Windows 10 Pro v22H2 64-bit, Intel Core i7-8700K, 32GB RAM, Samsung 960 Pro SSD, AMD Radeon Pro WX 5100, 3 Dell Monitors (3840x2160)
Home: AutoCAD 2022.1.3, Windows 10 Pro v22H2 64-bit, Intel Core i7-11700, 64GB RAM, Samsung 980 Pro SSD, NVIDIA Quadro P2200, Dell Monitor (3840x2160)

Alright, after entering ARRAYEDIT and selecting the array what do I do next?

My only choices are below:

Command: ARRAYEDIT

Select array:

Enter an option [Source/REPlace/Base point/Rows/Columns/Levels/RESet/eXit] <eXit>:

Enter S for source and then select the item to edit.

When I enter S for source, it only allows me to select objects already in the array. How do I add objects that are not part of the array? See below

Command: ARRAYEDIT

Select array:

Enter an option [Source/REPlace/Base point/Rows/Columns/Levels/RESet/eXit] <eXit>: s

Select item in array:

Without seeing what you're trying to do, I'm not sure which option would be best for you.  You can copy (Ctrl+C) or copy with base point the items you want to add and paste them in once you're editing the source.  Or you can replace objects with a new selection (REPlace), etc.

I recommend looking up ARRAYEDIT in help (F1 or enter ? at the command line) and read up on how each option works.

Copying the additional objects to my clipboard, editing the array, choosing S, selecting an item in the array, then pasting the items copied to the clipboard works.

<insert deleterious comment here about how no part of this answer is included in the autocad help for this command>

Thank you!!

With the Ribbon on, pick on the array, note the total width of the array, or height, change the column number to one higher (or row, depending on what you are doing), the total will change, type in the old value, close array.

You can do this without the ribbon by using the grips provided as well.
