Extruding an Array

I'm trying to create a gear by drawing a circle and a single tooth for a gear, then using a polar array to create teeth around the circle. When I extrude this shape, it is not a solid, and I can hatch one face of it, but not the other. How do I convert this object to be a solid 3d object when extruded?

Try Presspull rather than Extrude.
